Some things can't be sorted until the party starts.

Stop trying to figure everything out before you start. Put down that 20-page plan.

Your best ideas won't come from your planning sessions. They will come from your people.

Every builder faces this tension. You want everything perfect. You want everything planned. You want everything promised. Without those things locked in, you're panicking. Sweating every detail. Convinced it will all fall apart if you haven't planned for every possibility.

You couldn't be more wrong.

TBDs aren't gaps in your plan. They're opportunities for co-creation. Turn "This is missing" into "What should we build together?"

Be strategic about your TBDs. Don't TBD your core promise. "We'll figure out what to talk about when you show up" is not acceptable. Do TBD the details. Food options. Music choice. Follow-up formats.

Your community will hold you accountable. They'll screenshot your promises. They'll save your emails. They'll remember what you said on day one. But that's not a threat. It's a gift.

The more you put in the TBD column now, the faster you can start. The less you need to build upfront. The more you can adapt on the fly. The better you can serve real needs, not assumed ones.

Your community isn't a product to perfect. It's a space to evolve. Leave room for magic.

Keep some TBDs.
